T2 - Weeks 3-4

πŸ‘‹ LIVE FROM THE HIVE … πŸ‘‹

*FRIENDLY REMINDER* WHEN BUZZING THE GATE

A friendly reminder to please face the camera when buzzing for entry. Our staff need to be able to see and recognise you clearly before they can open the gate, so a quick look at the camera goes a long way!

CONCRETE SKATE RETURNS!

The children have been having an amazing time with Concrete Skate over the past two weeks! This term we've hit a record high, with 40 children enrolled in skating… our biggest number ever! The activity has proven so popular that we've split into two groups to keep things running smoothly. Our kindy kids and beginner skaters have been building confidence and learning the fundamentals, while our older and more experienced skaters have been taking on the ramps and extending their skills. We can't wait to see what they achieve by the end of term!

EMERGENCY DRILLS

Thank you for your patience as we carried out our termly emergency evacuation drills over the past fortnight. Each term, we are required to complete two drills, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

This week, we'll be moving on to our lockdown drills. Please see the schedule below and, where possible, try to avoid drop-off and pick-up during these times.

Lockdown Drill Schedule

  • Wednesday 21st May: Morning Lockdown Drill: Approximately 7:30am

  • Thursday 22nd May: Afternoon Lockdown Drill: Approximately 3:45pm–4:00pm

❄️ COOLER WEATHER ❄️

As the days grow shorter and the temperatures continue to drop, we kindly ask that you pack a jumper in your child's bag each day. The cooler weather has really started to make itself known, particularly during our 5pm fruit time!! So having a warm layer on hand makes a big difference in keeping the children comfortable and happy as the afternoon winds down.

Please Note: Early bird pricing will be available until midnight on Sunday 14th June (end of Week 8), so be sure to get in early!

🐌 OUR GARDEN 🌿

We went on a compost hunt around the school grounds looking for compostable material. We got fruit and veggie scraps from the canteen, cardboard boxes from the recycling bins, and dried leaves from the front grass. We added them to our compost bins then turned them to mix and add air.

We are excited to save the seeds from our big sunflower! We are waiting until the back of the sunflower head turns yellow/brown as the seeds will be ready to collect then. We can plant the seeds in spring for lots more sunflowers in summer.

The fairy garden has been refreshed with lots of colourful crafts - check out that disco fairy throne!
