Term 3 Week 7 - Recycling

HIVE NEWS ::

PLACEMENT STUDENT
We were recently asked whether we’d host a prac student - and we said yes! Elisa is studying at Bedford College for her Diploma in School Age Care, and will be with us on Monday and Friday afternoons for the rest of term. She is not in ratio, rather she’s observing and assisting our team in various areas around the centre. We’re proud to provide this service to the community and help prepare the next generation of Educators!

HOLIDAY PROGRAM
Bookings open Saturday 7th Sept. Remember: Holiday Program is open to children from other local schools too - so if you want to guarantee a spot, please book early.

ENROLMENTS FOR 2020
Re-enrolments for existing families (including new siblings) will open in November. There are no indicators of a waiting list, so you can relax until you hear from us, and we’ll tell you once the process begins.

THANK YOU KOH!
Shout out to KOH, a local company, who continue to supply us with their fabulous universal cleaning product - kind to the environment, safe for kids and a perfect solution for us as a child care centre!

PARENT REMINDERS ::

  • Please ensure the Warners Avenue pedestrian gate closes firmly behind you when you leave - thank you.

  • When leaving through the gate only allow children directly under your supervision. Other children must buzz out themselves, so that we can ascertain they’re not with Hive.

  • Evacuation drills were re-scheduled due to bad weather. They will take place on Tuesday Week 8 (10th Sep) and we’ll email you asking to avoid a certain window for pickup - thanks in advance for your cooperation.

CLUB NEWS ::

  • We focused on recycling this week - thank you to all parents who brought in their materials for us to use. Please VOTE for your favourite RECYCLED HOUSE/CASTLE in the Hive room!

  • In ART & CRAFT, the kids loved making their own paint by recycling old, dry markers. They created some beautiful artworks… We also designed some fabulous home-made pots, using old milk containers!

  • In EXPLORE & DISCOVER we were inspired by the suggestion box to make PUTTY - and the kids loved it! Thanks Euge for getting all the materials together and making it possible.

  • Ethan’s fantastic WOODWORK CLUB for seniors finished up this week. The Y3s were a tad envious - so from next week we’ll start a course for them on Tuesday afternoons!

  • Next for the Seniors is a WIRE-WORKING CLUB, also starting next week

  • In the HIVE ROOM our kids enjoyed a mix of activities - magnets, indoor archery, and lots of puzzle-time!!
