Term 3 Week 4 - Science Week

HIVE NEWS ::

OUR PROGRAM
We’ve added a link on our website to our weekly program. You can see what’s happening in the mornings and the afternoons for both Juniors and Seniors. Check it out here!

MOVIE CLUB
A special note: The wonderful Ziggy launched MOVIE CLUB last week, and it was just as popular this week. To begin with, they’re talking genres, scripts, and the various roles involved in making movies. Well done ZIGGY and SETH for developing this fabulous new club!

CALL OUT FOR OLD CLOTHES!
We’re working together with the lovely Kate in the garden. We’re going to make SCARECROWS, and we’d love your help - any old clothes which our scarecrows can wear will be gratefully received. Please bring them in before week 7 - thank you!

ASSESSMENT & RATINGS VISIT
Thank you to all our parents for supporting us through the process. And a huge fist bump to all our Hive staff for showing our very best side to the assessor. We know we passed, so it’s business as usual whist we wait for the detailed outcome…

CLUB NEWS ::

  • SCIENCE WEEK!! We got busy making CRYSTALS and kicking off some SEED SPROUTING this week. Well done Isla for watering them every day. And our little engineers created JET PACKS out of recycled materials!

  • We had great fun with SOCCER on Monday - in a great Juniors v Seniors match! Seniors came out on top 3-1, but the Juniors held their own and the seniors were really encouraging. So good to see. Players of the match were OLLIE H Y1 and LEO M, Y1 for great teamwork and mad skills. Rematch soon…!

  • In BAKING CLUB, the kids made delicious blackberry & feta mini ‘hand pies’ with Mia’s help. Totally yummy, and healthy too!

  • More fun with the new ARCHERY sets this week - such a big hit!

  • Our SENIORS loved getting started on their woodwork projects - making all sorts of stuff from balsa wood. Good work, chippies!

PARENT REMINDERS ::

  • Remember to tell us before 2:30pm if your child will be absent in the afternoon. We don’t like penalty fees… You have three options:

    • mark the session ‘away’ online (until 12pm the day before)

    • email us on the ‘bookings@…’ address

    • call us on 0450 896 686
