Term 3 Week 3

HIVE NEWS ::

DEPARTMENT VISIT
Our Ratings & Assessment visit is scheduled for this Friday afternoon, 9th and next Monday morning, 12th. This is a standard procedure for all OSHC centres and as it’s our first time, we’re seeing it as a great opportunity to learn. So, if you see our staff deep in conversation with someone you don’t recognise, that’s why… And don’t worry, we’ve rostered on extra staff to maintain supervision.

City2Surf
Good luck to all the families taking part in City2Surf on Sunday, especially those raising money for great causes. If you have any photos you’d like to share with the Hive community, please send ‘em in!

SENIORS’ PROGRAM
We listened to your feedback from the Parent Survey and we’ve stepped up the Seniors’ program for Term 3. We hope your older ones are enjoying the new offerings: Thursday excursions across the road; Wednesday Wheels Day Y3-6; Tuesday mini-projects starting with Woodwork next week! Please let us know what you and the kids think of the new plans: the more you tell us, the better we can be.

CLUB NEWS ::

  • Please note: WHEELS DAY for Seniors has been moved from Tuesday to WEDNESDAY

  • In BAKING CLUB this week, the kids made healthy chocolate chip muffins, lower in sugar, with healthy fats and bananas - what did you think?

  • In Art & Craft, the POTTERY activity was fabulously led by Xavier in Y1 - good job!! The kids made some great creations…

  • We embraced the performing arts this week with an OPEN TALENT SHOW in the Hall, and Priscila (our resident sports teacher) had a great time running JUST DANCE activities in the later afternoons

  • …and thumbs up to Eugenia for ordering the most popular new game: ARCHERY! It was meant just for the older kids, but the little ones are SO keen, we’re going to get another set for them too…

PARENT REMINDERS ::

  • Remember to tell us before 2:30pm if your child will be absent in the afternoon. We don’t like penalty fees… You have three options:

    • mark the session ‘away’ online (until 12pm the day before)

    • email us on the ‘bookings@…’ address

    • call us on 0450 896 686

    • REMEMBER: telling school is not the same as telling us
