T2 Weeks 3-4
/👋 LIVE FROM THE HIVE … 👋
EVACUATION DRILL
Each term, we run an emergency evacuation drill to help everyone—big and small—feel confident and ready in case of an emergency. It’s really important that both children and staff are familiar with what to do, so we thanks you in advance for your understanding and support!
This term’s drill is scheduled for Thursday, 29th May, between 3:30 and 4:00pm.
*NB: Children who have music lessons during this time will remain onsite and won’t be joining the drill.
KINDY BIBS
We’re so proud of how far our kindy cohort has come this year! They’ve made amazing progress with their learning goals, and we’re thrilled to share that they’re now confidently taking their bibs off by the 4pm meeting—such a fantastic milestone! Way to go, Kindies! Next term, we’ll be working towards taking them off directly after roll call at 3pm…
LOST PROPERTY…
We still have some lost property left over from the last holiday program. If any of it looks like it might belong to your child, please let us know!
Just a friendly reminder that labelling your child’s clothing is always a great idea — it helps everything find its way back home more easily!
👨🍳 🎨 🎲 WHAT HAVE THE KIDS BEEN UP TO? 🏏 🧸 🧪
Here is a taster of what the children have been up to in our brilliant ACTIVITY CLUBS this past fortnight:
ART & CRAFT: paper plate dinosaurs, hama beads, oil pastel flowers, watercolours, tissue paper cherry blossoms, group mandalas, beaded windchimes, handprint campfires, fish monsters, DIY bookmarks… just to name a few!
SPORTS: we’ve mixed it up this fortnight and played some new games, including: ship, shark & shore; builders and bulldozers; pool noodle tips; rock, paper, scissors battle; mixed in with some dodgeball, jack in the pack and of course - soccer!
EXPLORE & DISCOVER: leaf imprints, marble sensory painting, diy playdough, nature colour walk and a fantastic talent show!
BAKING CLUB: yummy strawberry crumble bars and cheesy vegemite scrolls!
FISH UPDATES
After our little fish feature in the last newsletter, we got some great name ideas for our Rosy Barbs! A big thank you to Isaac in Year 1 for your clever suggestions — everyone, please say hello to Rhu and Barb! 😊
🐝 BEES OF THE WEEK 🐝
Paxton & Sapphire (Y1)
These two are always such enthusiastic helpers with the daily cleaning checklist, and they do it all with big smiles! Amazing teamwork, girls—thank you!
Juliet J-P (Y3)
For being a loyal and flexible friend who always includes others and makes everyone feel welcome 😊 We love your style Juliet!
🐌 OUR GARDEN 🌿
We’ve been busy in the garden these past few weeks! The compost got a good turn and has been put to work fertilising the garden beds. We’ve planted beans, pumpkin, watercress, and rocket—and of course, given our little seedlings lots of love and care. Plus, the sensory garden signs are back up and looking great…. Phew! 😅 Lots of hard work, but wow do we love getting our hands into the earth!
