Term 4 Week 5 - Recyclables Week

WEATHER ALERTS::
We’ve had some very hot days and smoky conditions this week. On these occasions, we change our plans to put the safety of the children first - increasing shady play and keeping vulnerable children indoors

HOLIDAY PROGRAM::
We’re working hard behind the scenes on HOLIDAY PROGRAM, to get the ‘big one’ ready: 19th-20th Dec +
6th–28th Jan. Back to school on Weds 29th Jan. Bookings will open in Week 7…

“FESTIVILION” 2019 - Sat 16th November::
A final reminder about ‘Festivilion’ this weekend, featuring kids art workshops and 'clay play', music from Rose Bay Secondary College, jazz and choir performances and more. Half of BBPS will be there, with performances from the violin group, choir and dance ensembles, plus loads of Hive kids’ artwork on display! Come and enjoy this local community festival… ;-)

POLICY REVIEW::
We have a process of regular policy review here at The Hive. Sometimes this happens behind the scenes, involving changes which do not directly affect our families. At other times, we review policies that do impact you directly and we would value your input towards this process, to ensure that our policies best reflect the needs of our families, whilst also satisfying the stringent regulations applicable to all OSHC centres.

We will communicate via email regarding the review of individual policies which directly affect you the parents. Please watch your inbox, and do take a few minutes out of your day to review what we’re proposing and give us your input.

SUN PROTECTION ::
Our SunSmart policy is NO HAT - NO PLAY. The same as school’s.
Please make sure your children bring hats to school every day
We give the kids sunscreen every afternoon at roll call.

CLUB NEWS::

  • Thanks to Tobi, mum of Archie (Y1) who brought in a big bag of recyclable materials this week - perfect timing for our week’s theme

  • Our ARTY CRAFTY kids got busy making their own paint out of soil, crushed chalk, water and baking soda.

  • We also made a start on some CHRISTMAS decorations this week. Yep, it’s happening folks… ;-)

  • Lots of SPORT this week (when conditions allowed), with the play equipment and HOCKEY proving very popular. We continue to watch the older kids learn self regulation sportsmanship with their impromptu touch rugby games on the front grass
